Who is Dr. Tom?
Dr. Tom Way has been performing professionally as a magician since 1978. He has performed at home and abroad, for groups as large as 1,000 and as small as 1. His style incorporates humor and lots of audience participation, always with kindness.
As a young adult, Tom paid his way through college performing for children’s birthday parties, still one of his favorite venues. Over the years, he has performed in many exotic locales, including the world-famous Magic Castle, the Japanese Embassy, Shakey’s Pizza Parlors, a rest stop in the Andes Mountains, and hundreds of well-appointed living rooms.
Now, Dr. Tom, who is also known as Magic Tom, performs regularly for parties, banquets, summer camps, nursing homes, corporate events, trade shows, fancy cocktail parties, non-profit fundraisers, and any other place where people are gathered to enjoy some light-hearted astonishment.
Tom also consults on theatrical productions that require magical advisement, including prop and set design. Among his magic consulting gigs are: Beauty and the Beast, Les Misérables, Schoolhouse Rock Live, Youth (James Ijames), Fiddler on the Roof, and Carnival!
For fun, Dr. Tom is also an online textbook author, marathon runner, software engineer, and professor of Computer Science at Villanova University.
